THROW PILLOWS

Adding in some throw pillows and cushions is my ultimate favorite and effortless way to instantly update any interior with this hottest trend. These rich purple toned pillows can immediately transform and make a bold statement in any room. Go for 18″ or 24″ pillows to get that sophisticated modern look and don’t feel pressure with the number of pillows, I have always found that an odd number like 3 or 5 looks better than going with the traditional pair.

FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS

What I look forward to the most each Spring, is all the beautiful blooms and gorgeous colors adorning our homes inside and out. A simple yet full of color flower arrangement such as a vase filled with purple tulips can bring elegance to any room. Flowers not only heighten a room’s aesthetic, but they also give off a sweet aroma that creates a more emotionally inviting space. Flower arrangements work well for those rooms you want to quickly inject a touch of the latest color trend into,  such as bathrooms and dining rooms.

AREA RUG

 Area rugs are a fun and bold way to update any room and add an instant pop of color. Area rugs rich in a hue can instantly give a room an entirely new look by creating a dramatic focal point, especially when paired with more natural tones or softer monochromatic hues. Be bold and try a different shape of a rug, depending on your furniture arrangement,  and your room may be able to accommodate a rug that is oval, circle or square which will completely elevate your design to take it to the next level.

ACCENT FURNITURE

Accent furniture is a great way to introduce color to any room. I often use accent furniture to draw attention and bring excitement to a space. By purposely choosing pieces that have a different style from the rest of the furniture such as in color, you can easily create an amazing look. Pairing a vibrant purple hue chair with neutral tones creates an eye-catching room showing off one of the hottest trends of 2018.

LIVING ROOMS

Due to its close proximity to the entrance and kitchen, the living room tends to be the first room where we host family and guests. It is one of, if not THE, most common room to laugh, think, and converse with one another. Therefore, it is important to design a sophisticated living room that is both inviting and suited for congregating and celebrating. Using design elements such as a custom-figured sectional will allow for open seating that is ideal for conversation and will give your guests the ability to move freely around the room. Pairing the sectional with a scaled cocktail table at arm’s reach provides your guests with the perfect place to sit down their drinks.

THEATER ROOMS

Give everyone the best seat in the house! When the evenings have turned chilly the idea of a true cinema-style media room to watch old movie favorites or catch up on the latest Netflix shows is a must!  A custom media room gives you the opportunity to offer your guests a dose of personality with an extra layer of coziness. Pillows, blankets, oversized seating and a deluxe sound system are the design elements that come to mind when putting together the cinema experience. Not to mention, a theater room is a great place to entertain the kids when the parents want to enjoy some adult conversation.

Of course, nobody likes to see wires, mounts, and speakers. It takes away from the feel and experience. There are many innovative and architectural speaker brands that enable a clean, finished look without compromising design. There are recessed, in-ceiling speakers, projector screens that are acoustically designed to mount speakers behind the screen as to not see them. Don’t forget about the lighting as it is critical to the experience. Use enough light to create a subtle illumination but not enough to take away from the picture.

DINING ROOMS

After the kitchen, the dining room is the second most important space in a home during Thanksgiving. Welcoming your guests to a dining room that is both stylish and functional is essential for this great holiday. Sitting together to enjoy a delicious meal shouldn’t be just about the food, but should also provide your guests with an intimate experience of good conversation and beautifully designed surroundings. As you may know, two of the most important elements to a great dining room are the table and seating. The dining table should pleasantly accommodate all your guests and allow the conversation to flow freely without interruptions. The chairs should be sleek yet comfortable complementing your style and taste.

Elongated rectangular tables tend to be the most popular, but if your space cannot accommodate the length consider using a roundtable. Remember with round tables, you have to consider the diameter of the table and the chairs accessibility without restricting functionality.  A chic round table design enables everyone to comfortably see and converse with each other while eating as well as allowing for some extra leg room.

A blue focal wall is both moody and romantic.

Adding dark walls and accents are a dramatic and effortless way bring a beautiful richness to a room. I love the combination of the contrasting colors. Dark gray walls and bright white furniture are mixed perfectly with the warm metals with gold-tone accents.

The wealth of knowledge I came across at #highpointmarket has roused my imagination with numerous design combinations to incorporate into future hospitality projects and product collection.

Developing design concepts that bring to life the structure, history, and form of each piece of furniture while creating something still unique and modern for our collection is an aspiration of mine.

Walking through the #hospitalitymarket showrooms, I was fascinated by innovative furniture designs and wall décor, but I was truly captivated by the new larger than life showroom by the talented Christopher Guy.

One of my favorite pieces from the Christopher Guy collection was the unevenly shaped mirror arrangement that transforms the classic use of mirrors into a work of art.

And this Bellini Modern Living sideboard is sure to make a statement in any room. I can already see this piece in one of my future projects.

I will be sharing some of my favorite stones and how I have been able to enhance my aesthetic using one of the earth’s natural and most resourceful materials!

When designing a super yacht you must consider every possible situation from space constraints to materials, themes, functionality and safety. With the advances in modern furnishing and materials, there is no reason why anyone should force the stereotypical home interior into a custom yet modern yacht. I believe a design should always be site specific and unique for the client. Yacht design is absolutely in my future, but until then, here are a few of my favorite inspirations for a stylish one.
